In each of our classes you will do a variety of yoga poses, or asanas, to stretch the various parts of your body. You will also do some breathing exercises, or Pranayama, (and can meditate if you wish).

Tom will give the class general instructions about a pose. He may also give you individual instructions. He may even physically adjust your body while you are in the pose, to help you better understand the actions and movements of the pose.

What's the most important thing to remember?
That you are in charge of your body. Not the teacher. Do what you feel safe doing.

What do I need to bring?
Two bare feet.

What should I wear?
Tee shirts and shorts, or leotards, are the usual attire.

Can I eat before class?
Try not to eat at least an hour before class.

Does Tom teach any particular style of yoga?
Yes and no. His class is "Iyengar-based," but he teaches aspects of many styles.
